Taxus (Yew)

Popular shrubs valued for their hardiness, resistance to insects and disease, and durability. Often overused in foundation plantings, yews can be found in almost any neighborhood in the Midwest. Yews have excellent year round color. They offer a wide range of forms and a slow to medium growth rate. They will tolerate dry and moist soil but will suffer if conditions are wet. Yews thrive in sun or shade but will not tolerate harsh winds.
