The O'Hare Airport infestation was found on November 28, 2000. The infestation is adjacent to an incinerator and likely started from infected tree debris brought to the site before the Ravenswood infestation was detected. During December 2000, infested trees (23) were removed; also surrounding host trees (220) were removed as a precautionary measure. Quarantine was established in September 2001 and is about 9 square miles. The quarantine was lifted on April 21, 2005.
