A small group of deciduous conifers which are hardy from zone 2 to 6 and are members of the pine family. Larches are best reserved for large open spaces where they have adequate root space. They will thrive in wet or dry locations but will not tolerate heavy clay soil or polluted areas. Larches are not recommended for urban areas.
